The Cabinet approved on Tuesday afternoon the appointment of Regional Cooperation Minister, Tzachi Hanegbi, as acting Communications Minister for a period of three months.

On February 19 Netanyahu sent a letter to Cabinet Secretary Braverman officially resigning from his position as Minister of Communications, following the Supreme Court’s ruling that in light of the criminal investigation against him regarding his relations with the media, he could not continue holding the portfolio. Netanyahu appointed Minister Tzachi Hanegbi to fulfill his duties as Minister of Communications for an interim 90 day period.

Inspectors of the Israel Antiquities Authority Unit for the Prevention of Antiquities Robbery caught on Monday a cell of antiquities robbers while they were conducting illegal excavations in an ancient cave near the area of Gvaot Goral in the Negev.

The presumed robbers apparently aimed at finding a hidden treasure which would have been buried in the cave according to a Bedouin legend. This cell is the second one caught in the south in the past month alone.
